Response behavior and edge cases
The response contains data and meta. Rows contain code, setting, year, rank, services, beneficiaries, average_allowed, currency, and source_row. Counts retain the dataset's decimal strings; average_allowed is rounded to integer USD cents. Rank is within the selected setting and metric, before filtering by code.
meta.source identifies the snapshot year, publication date, source URL, hash, dictionary URL, landing URL, and selection notes. Pagination uses page, limit, total, and nullable next_page.
Interpretation
An absent code means no matching observation in this snapshot; it does not mean zero services. The historical average is not today's reimbursement rate. Use rates for a current amount, and retain the utilization year and source when displaying rankings.
