ZIP to locality

You know the ZIP. We’ll find the locality.

Medicare prices depend on payment localities, not just state lines. Start with your practice’s ZIP instead of tracking down a locality code.

FeeBase checks the CMS mapping for you. If a ZIP covers more than one locality, we ask for ZIP+4. An unresolved match stays visible, so you can check it before using the rate.

A few useful answers

What does this rate represent?

The Medicare column shows the base participating physician fee-schedule rate for the selected location and setting, using your selected payment category. It is before claim adjustments—not a guaranteed payment or a patient responsibility amount. Your rate applies the percentage you choose to that reference.

Which fee schedules are supported?

The CMS Physician Fee Schedule from 2013 onward, plus Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule rates for lab codes. Your service date and ZIP select the applicable release and geography. Unavailable data and unsupported payment rules are shown explicitly.

Where does the data come from?

Rates use accepted CMS releases for your service date: Physician Fee Schedule relative value files and Geographic Practice Cost Indices, the quarterly Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule, and the CMS ZIP-to-locality files. Each result links to its source release. If an exact-period ZIP file is unavailable, the lookup labels the earlier geography release used.
