The service may be performed in an office procedure room or a facility operating room, depending on the lesion and the planned technique. This code is for a lesion treated through the nasal passage, not a lesion on the external nose or a nasal polyp handled under the polyp-removal codes.

Select the code based on the lesion and the work documented, including its intranasal location, the removal or destruction method, and the extent of treatment. CMS assigns a 90-day global period: the day-before preoperative visit and 90 days of related postoperative care are included. Can I report 30117 for a nasal polyp?
