Medicare & work-RVU tools

RVU calculator

Start with what you need to calculate. A national Medicare estimate, a local code payment, and clinician compensation use different inputs.

No account required. Medicare amounts are base physician fees before claim-level adjustments.

National Medicare estimate

$33.40

1 total RVU × $33.40090000 = $33.40

This assumes all three geographic indexes are 1.000. Use code + location mode for a local payment; one blended geographic factor cannot accurately adjust a total RVU figure.

Why three different calculations?

A Medicare service combines work, practice-expense and malpractice RVUs. Each component has its own geographic index. The office and facility settings can use different practice-expense RVUs.

Compensation agreements may instead pay a negotiated amount per work RVU. That dollar factor is a contract input, not the Medicare conversion factor.
