An answer you can trace.

Our standard for guides, calculators, and reference pages: show the basis, explain the assumptions, and make errors easy to report.

Responsibility for our content

Textual, LLC publishes FeeBase and is responsible for its product content. Our material supports reimbursement research and operational planning; it is not individualized medical, legal, coding, or billing advice.

Do not interpret a guide as clinical review or professional certification. Confirm decisions against current official guidance and the requirements of the relevant payer.

Sources before summaries

For Medicare reference rates, use the CMS release and effective period identified with the result. Our data coverage page lists accepted source releases, and the methodology page explains the calculation and its limitations. Guide references link to the source material used for the topic.

Data and source releasesCalculation methodology

Dates and assumptions matter

A page update date is not the effective date of a payment rule. Check the service date, source period, location, facility setting, and any exclusions shown with the result. Examples illustrate a method and do not establish payment for an individual claim.

CMS releases and payer rules can change. We do not promise that every guide reflects every new release immediately. When source guidance and a summary differ, consult the applicable official source and let us know.

Corrections and feedback

To report an error, send the page URL, the statement or result in question, and a link to the source you think applies. For rate calculations, include the code, practice ZIP or locality, service date, and setting. Please omit patient information.

[email protected]

We use these details to reproduce the issue and determine whether the source, calculation, or explanation needs a correction. Reporting an issue does not change a result automatically.

Product offers and independent judgment

FeeBase’s paid product offers are identified separately from its free reference tools. A listed Medicare rate is a reference derived from the stated inputs and source data, not a recommendation to buy a product or set a particular charge.
